Our Background

Starting from the establishment of our Chinese Medicine Division back in 1883, Hospital Lam Wah Ee (HLWE) has, to this day carried on a proud tradition of as a charitable hospital that benefits the sick and needy. For over 140 years, HLWE has held aloft a beacon of hope, healing and compassion in our community, holding fast to our core mission of providing excellent healthcare to all, regardless of financial background.

Through the years, we have continued to diversify our offerings, leading to the establishment of our Western Medicine Division in 1983. We have experienced significant growth since then, in terms of both medical expertise as well as physical infrastructure. By embracing technology and innovation as the digital age unfolds, we are now able to elevate our patient care to the highest standards.

In line with today’s technological advancements, we have acquired cutting-edge medical technologies and equipment to enhance diagnostic and treatment capabilities towards improving patient outcomes. These are made available to all patients regardless of financial ability.

Apart from medical and imaging innovations, implementation of new and improved systems, such as computerised physician order, digital outpatient notes and document management system ensures patients receive the best possible treatment.
